The Sargent 80 Series MD8640J is a heavy-duty exit device engineered for commercial and institutional buildings requiring ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 security and reliability. Ideal for metal doors 1 3/4" to 2 1/4" thick, this left-hand reverse (LHR) model features a durable rim configuration with modular construction, minimal moving parts, and maintenance-free operation for facilities of any size.
The J-rail fits door widths 37" to 42" and installs with factory-cut sizing when door width is provided. Compatible with 650 top and 606 bottom strikes (panic and fire-rated), this device supports optional features including delayed egress, alarmed exit, electric latch retraction, and photoluminescent or illuminated guidance.
