The Norton 8301 is a heavy-duty surface-mounted door closer designed for interior and exterior applications where reliability and durability matter. It combines a non-handed rack-and-pinion mechanism with a cast aluminum body to handle virtually any door application, from high-traffic commercial spaces to standard institutional settings. This closer exceeds 10 million cycles and includes a slim-line plastic cover as standard.
The 8301 features multi-size spring power adjustment (sizes 1-6), two independently adjustable valves for sweep and latch speed control, and adjustable backcheck intensity, all managed with a hex key. It projects only 2-1/8" from the door surface and performs reliably from -40°F to extreme heat.
