The Schlage L9040 OMEL 626 is an extra heavy-duty mortise lock built for high-traffic commercial environments including schools, hospitals, and factories. This Grade 1 rated lock features a heavy-gauge steel case, zinc dichromate-plated components, and a two-piece anti-friction tongue designed to withstand constant use without failure.
The L9040 supports ten functions in a single universal case and is field-reversible without opening the lock. It includes a break-away spindle for security and easy replacement, hub blocking plate to discourage spindle manipulation, and a fail-secure fusible link.
