The Schlage L9080B is an extra heavy-duty mortise lock engineered for high-traffic institutional environments including schools, hospitals, and factories. Built to ANSI Grade 1 standards, it resists constant use and door edge attacks with a heavy-gauge steel case, all-metal zinc dichromate-plated components, and a two-piece anti-friction tongue that reduces wear.
This universal lock case accommodates ten functions and field-reversible handing without opening the lock. Compatible with standard mortise lock applications and beveled doors via floating mounting tabs. The L9080B includes a break-away spindle for fail-secure operation and hub blocking plate to discourage spindle manipulation.
