Description
The Marks M9900F is the fire-rated version of one of the most widely installed Grade 1 rim exit devices in the country, and our best-selling panic bar year after year. Because it is UL fire-rated, it has no dogging feature: the latch always re-engages, which is exactly what code requires on a fire door. Schools, hospitals, churches, and property managers order this device when an inspector has flagged a fire door, and it is the replacement we recommend most often for failed builder-grade hardware.
The heavy cast chassis takes daily abuse without loosening, and the smooth, low-projection touchbar will not snag carts or clothing in busy corridors. It fits standard 1-3/4 inch doors and installs as a straightforward surface mount on the push side. If your door is not fire-rated and you want daytime push/pull dogging, choose the panic-rated M9900 instead. Pair it with key-locked outside trim if people also enter through this door, and add a fire-rated electric strike or electrified trim if the opening is on access control.
