Description
The Fox Police Lock is the legendary New York brace lock, and this Progressive DBL-01-36 is the modern double-bolt version for doors 34 to 38 inches wide. A steel bar spans the door and throws bolts into both sides of the frame at once, so a kick attack meets the whole frame rather than a single strike plate.
It is the heavy artillery for inswing apartment and townhouse doors, the upgrade people buy after an attempted break-in. Operation is a key from outside and a turn from inside, and the bar lifts off when you want it out of the way. Installation is within reach of a careful DIYer with basic tools.
