The Norton 8501 is a heavy-duty surface-mounted door closer designed for commercial and institutional buildings requiring reliable, durable performance. This non-handed closer solves the challenge of controlling door swing on interior and exterior applications, with a proven rack-and-pinion design that exceeds 10 million cycles.
The 8501 installs on either hand without modification and projects just 2-1/8" from the door surface with its standard full plastic cover. Spring power adjusts from size 1 to 6, while independent hex-key valves control sweep and latch speeds plus backcheck intensity.
