The Norton 8501 is a heavy-duty surface-mounted door closer designed for interior and exterior doors in commercial and institutional settings. It combines reliable closing action with a compact footprint, using a rack-and-pinion mechanism and cast aluminum construction to handle high-traffic environments while maintaining consistent performance across a wide temperature range.
The 8501 mounts surface-style on either hand of the door and projects just 2-1/8" maximum. It features hex-key adjustable sweep, latch, and backcheck valves for fine-tuned closing control, plus multi-stage spring power (sizes 1-6).
