The Norton 8501 is a heavy-duty surface-mounted door closer designed for commercial interior and exterior doors. Built with a cast aluminum body and rack-and-pinion mechanism, it delivers reliable performance across demanding environments while maintaining a compact profile of just 2-1/8" from the door surface. Non-handed design works on either hand without modification.
The 8501 exceeds 10 million cycles and features multi-size spring power adjustment (sizes 1-6), independent sweep and latch speed controls, adjustable backcheck, and optional delayed-action closing.
