The Norton 8501 is a heavy-duty surface-mounted door closer designed for interior and exterior applications where reliability and durability matter. Built with a cast aluminum body and rack-and-pinion mechanism, it handles over 10 million cycles and delivers smooth, controlled closing in temperatures from -40°F to extreme heat. Non-handed installation works on either door swing.
The 8501 comes standard with a full plastic cover and projects just 2-1/8" from the door surface. Hex-key adjustable valves let you fine-tune sweep speed, latch speed, and backcheck intensity independently. Spring power adjusts from size 1 to 6 for precise control.
