The Marks 22AC is the industry-standard narrow-stile mortise lockset for iron doors, and it is our single most reviewed product: customers consistently tell us it matched a 20 or 30 year old lock exactly, right down to the screw holes.
The 22AC fits the short backsets and thin frames that standard residential locksets cannot, and the single-screw Uni-Lock assembly makes installation manageable for a handy homeowner. It takes standard mortise cylinders, so a locksmith can key it to match your house key, or you can upgrade the cylinder to Medeco or Mul-T-Lock for patented key control without changing the lock body.
Before ordering, measure your backset (commonly 1 inch or less on iron doors) and note your door handing. If anything looks different from the photos, email a picture of your current lock to sales@edlocks.com and we will confirm fit. Matching obsolete iron door locks is something we do every week.
