The Norton 8501 is a heavy-duty surface-mounted door closer designed for interior and exterior doors in commercial and institutional settings. It combines reliable rack-and-pinion mechanics with a cast aluminum body, solving the need for durable, consistent door control across high-traffic applications. Non-handed design works on any door swing.
The 8501 installs surface-mounted and projects just 2-1/8" from the door with its standard full plastic cover. Rated for over 10 million cycles, it features adjustable spring power (sizes 1-6), independent sweep and latch speed controls, and adjustable backcheck.
